  OLEKSANDR GURETS
tenor

Born in Ukraine, Oleksandr Gurets while studying at the Kyiv Conservatoire was a soloist at the National Veriovka Choir, a famous Ukrainian choir where careers of several distinguished Ukrainian singers were launched.

He was soon winning several prestigious vocal competitions including Lysenko Competition in Kyiv and Moniuszko Competition in Warsaw, participated in high profile concerts (such as commemorating Enrico Caruso in the company of Fiorenza Cosotto, Katia Riciarelli and Piero Capucilli in Germany) and toured with several opera companies (including Mariinsky Theatre in Israel and throughout the UK culminating in Albert Hall performance singing Radames from Verdi's Aida).

While being one of the leading tenors at the Ukrainian National Opera, Oleksandr Gurets sang at Estonian National Opera in 2004, and was also invited to perform for National operas of Poland, Romania and Moldova.

Leading the celebrated Tenor Trio (together with Oleksandr Diachenko and Dmytro Popov) he has performed in several countries of Europe and North America.
