The Fourth Kyiv Festival - the Kyiv Festival 2007 - will take place 14-24 March 2007 in Ukrainian capital's most prestigious concert halls including the National Philharmonic Hall and the National Opera of Ukraine and will continue the trends established by the earlier highly successful festivals. The latest, the Third, Kyiv Festival was held in April 2006. Once again works by Ukrainian and other composers were performed by a number of distinguished international artists. In addition, the Festival paid special tribute to W.A. Mozart whose 250th anniversary was celebrated worldwide in 2006. Mozart’s works were strongly featured as well as music by 20th and 21st century composers who were particularly inspired by Mozart’s genius such as Alban Berg, Benjamin Britten and Valentine Sylvestrov.
