  OLGA RIVNIAK

Olga Rivniak was born in Ternopil in Western Ukraine. She started playing the violin at the age of five. In 1978 she graduated from Kyiv Lysenko School to the Moscow Conservatoire, where she studied with Professor B. Belenky.

From 1980 till 1990 Olga Rivniak continued her studied in Kyiv with Bogodar Kotorovych at the Kyiv Conservatoire. During this period she became winner of the Lysenko Competition in Kyiv, David Oistrakh Competition in Odessa and also received A. Russel Prize at International Chamber Music Contest in Paris, France.

Olga Rivniak is a soloist at the National Philharmonic Society of Ukraine. She leads an extensive performing career, appearing with all major orchestras and in all major venues within Ukraine and touring successfully outside the country – in France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Poland, Russia, and Turkey. Her frequent broadcasts on radio and television are also highly appraised.

Violinist Olga Rivniak owns a wonderful sound and immaculate technique that let her excel in works of diverse periods and styles. She is particularly renowned as a generous performer of works by Kreisler, Ysaye, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Schnittke, and Ukrainian music – classical and contemporary.
