Lenia Safiropoulou was born in Athens in 1979.
From 1985 - 1992 she studied violin and from 1993 to 1997 piano
in Athens with Dora Bakopoulou. In 1996 Lenia began voice studies
with Frangiscos Voutsinos. From 1997 to 2004 she studied singing
with Dunja Vejzovic and piano with Maria Sofianska in the Hochschule
fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Stuttgart. In 2002 Lenia completed
her studies in Lieder studying with Konrad Richter. In July 2004
she obtained diplomas in Singing and Piano and a Master’s diploma
in Singing.
Masterclasses include D. Evnouchidou, B. Rudenko, G. Dimitrova,
K. Richter, G. Orlandi-Malaspina, F. Araiza, R. Carson, B. Fassbaender
as well as in seminars of the Internationale Hugh-Wolf Akademie,
Stuttgart with Hans Hotter and G. Janowitz.
Lenia has sung the roles of Sesto, Annio and Pamira in opera seminar
performances of Le clemenza di Tito (2001) and L’assedio di Corinto
(2002) in the Pula Festival in Croatia . She gave a German Lieder
recital in Wilhelma Theatre in Stuttgard (2002) and 2 recitals in
Athens (2002, 2003). Lenia is the recipient of the 2002 Maria Callas
Scholarship. She currently studies at the Guildhall School of Music
& Drama with Susan McCulloch.
