Dutch alt-mezzo, Carina Vinke is an international singer. She performs all over Europe and is known as a chamber musician, concert singer and as an opera singer.
As a chamber musician she sings in duos and ensembles. With chamber orchestras she has performed Berio Folksongs, Turnage Twice Through the Heart, Mahler, Strauss songs and contemporary music dedicated to her.
Last year she made her debute as a soloist in the Dr. Anton Philipszaal with the Residence Orchestra of The Hague.
As a concert singer she has performed in many countries. Last year she sang in Portugal, Germany, Denmark, Spain, the UK, Belgium and in The Netherlands. Her repertoire included Mozart's Requiem, Matthew Passion and Christmas Oratorio by J.S. Bach and Handel's Messiah.
Carina has appeared in opera as Bradamante (Handel, Alcina), Sorceress (Purcell, Dido and Aeneas), Zita (Puccini, Gianni Schicchi), Zelatrice (Puccini, Suor Angelica), Mother of God (Martinu, Mariken van Nimwegen) Hermia (Britten, A Midsummer Nights Dream), Ursule (Berlioz, Beatrice et Benedict), Schwertleite (Wagner, Die Walkuere) and in many other roles.
Last April Faassen productions made a documentary about Carina.
Carina Vinke received her bachelor degree at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague in May 2004. She is now in her last year at The Opera Academy DNOA, Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and Sweelinck Conservatory Amsterdam, specializing in opera singing. She studies with Jard van Nes and Diane Forlano.
